Mannequin Hollowcaust+Brother Fyodor, “Jake Leg Syndrone”

(a sample of the shortest of the 3 collab tracks on our split, coming out Saturday April 21st for Record Store Day.)

during the 1930s Prohibition Era thousands of men in the American South and Midwest developed arm and leg weakness and pain after drinking a “medicinal” alcohol substitute. The drink, called “Ginger Jake,” contained an adulterated Jamaican ginger extract containing tri-ortho-cresyl phosphate (TOCP) which resulted in partially reversible neurologic damage. The damage resulted in the limping “Jake Leg” or “Jake Walk” which were terms frequently used in the blues music of the period.

this is our noise/drone tribute to said syndrome & its sufferers.

(its sort of an intermission track on the cd between our solo tracks & the whole album is bookended by the 2 longer collab tracks.)

since our “Mountains Made From the Corpses of Cowboys” (MH & Brother Fyodor) split cd comes out exactly a week from today for Record Store Day (Saturday April 21st), i decided to post another preview track from my half…

this may be the most accessible track from my material on this split & definitely the only really beat driven thing on my end this time…song itself(at least the first half) has been kicking around for years now & i’ve done it live alot but never knew where to go with the second half for a recorded version, so i finally decided to just drag that shit to hell & call it finished.

this is my contribution to William Birdcock zine II compilation cd, apparently that shit is out as of yesterday so get on top of it!!! we may have an official release show later this month, but for now if you want one get hold of me & i’ll get ya all the details…or if you wanna contribute also, that’d be swell, after all we are the only WEIRDO ART SCUM NOISE HOMEMADE SHIT DIGEST JOURNAL around these parts, or some such…
